Oh that guy he had a chip implanted and so did his wife. They've connected their nervous systems. I am quite jealous.

He described it as "tickling" sensation in his brain.

This is a very strange sensation. And what is the precision of his sonar ?

You don't die on your way to becoming synthetic.

What about side effects ?

I think aliens would be so different from us that it would be impossible.

Well thats something we won't know until we get to that stage. I suspect we can counteract the loss of hormone chemicals with artificial simulation in the machine parts. After all what makes you who you are is not just the brain but all the different chemicals reacting and being secreted. To keep yourself stable and remain yourself for the most part you would need to simulate these.

First that would require similar genetics in the beginning stages. Then you would need similar computer designs.

I don't think it is impossible but I do think it is highly unlikely.

We are indeed

We are basically on the verge of where mechanical limbs and organ systems will perform better than organic ones.

An unrelated question follows.
I have my final exam on English next month and i'd like to know if there are any particular flaws in my English. This forum has been an excellent exercise in improving my English, but if there is any particular flaw, then please tell me about it. smile

You type English better than a lot of native speakers so you should have no problems.

But it exists a lot of things you dislike, and you say "I can do it later", at the long term, and be caware of the death is a kind of motivation for doing that.

I can think of nothing in the world that I would not do now but that I would do before I die other than prepare for my own death. If death is no longer a factor then those actions are no longer necessary. Those are the only things that I would not want to do now but would do before death.

Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v....-hs-hpl

Edit: Ok. Episode 3 is just AWESOME. It takes place in Helsinki, it has real Finnish actors and the other one plays an undercover SUPO agent.

Antza2, very interesting. This reminds me the ending of "Prisoners of Power", when main hero activated sort of "kill switch" of special system created to control behavior of the citizens.

I'm thinking about creating of remake of this story in the setting of cyberpunk future, based on GITS universe and NEOTOKYO art. If you are interested, we may talk about this too.

Antza2, neither I am, that saddens me a bit. I'm a technical specialist, but it doesn't mean I can't write or make art.

GITS and NEOTOKYO aren't directly related to Japanese art, it's more like about cyberpunk future of humanity - some philosophical dilemmas, some science and technology forecasting, great visuals, etc. Actually, I'm not thinking about "remake", but rather about adaptation. Most likely some comics or short movies, so I can expand the initial conception - everything goes.
