Space Engine; Game vs Simulator?

(Sorry if this has already been made, this is my first topic and I tried searching for this)
I have a question about SE's future development.
Once you start with the game development, will you stop developing the simulator part? And when will you begin the development of the game? Once you think the simulator is complete? Don't get me wrong, I like both ideas and aspects, but I still want to know.
You said as long as SE stays a scientifically accurate universe simulator, you will add all things known in real astronomy. But when does it stop being a universe simulator? Does that mean you will stop adding astronomical things once you start work on the game?
So many questions!

Why? Of course not. It is impossible to finish development, this process is infinite.
The game will be a separate program btw.

Some day.

Once you think the simulator is complete?

No, simulator never will be complete, as I said.

The game will be a separate project, uses the same engine.

OK, great! Sounds amazing! Thanks for clarifying. You can ignore the PM; I didn't know if this forum was the right place to ask questions like this... Anyways, sorry to bother you. Seems like you have a lot of work to do!

Voxel terrain would certainly introduce huge performance issues - current engine is not even optimized outside it's graphics part and application of LOD mechanics to it would generate even more problems. Maybe in next 10 years it wil become possible to account all of this.

Sorry, Vladimir, I couldn't help it. happy

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

Just one guy opinion here:

I think the "engine" is sufficiently developed right now. Sure, a ton of stuff could be added/changed/optimized but the reality is, 2015 technology might not be sufficient to support what some people ask or want...

I think the game aspects have to be developed. This is probably the only way the dev will get more supporters. Simulator is cool, sure, but not for everyone. Combining it with some sort of "goal" would help in my opinion. Focusing on the space travel aspects (ships with resources, mining, scanning, exploration, orbital mechanisms...) could turn this "science project" into a very good game...
