If I zoom out far far from the Milky Way and every other Galaxy away I see only a single galaxy cluster streched out over the entire universe with no structures :C

So i hope the following things are going to implement in the future:

.) Galaxy Clusters like the Local Group
.) Superclusters like the Virgo Supercluster (or Local Supercluster)
.) Galaxy Filaments, Supercluster Complexes, Galaxy Walls, LQG, ...) like the Pisces–Cetus Supercluster Complex

...and the whole filaments and voids combined should look like the millenium simulation (https://www.google.com/#q=Millennium+Simulation).
i really hope SE is going to look like this . smile
P.s.: really sorry for my english hope you understood it. biggrin

In the object display settings, turn off procedural galaxies. This leaves only the cataloged ones which should form what we are familiar with seeing. Keep in mind though, that those are only what we have recorded, and, although I could be wrong, if we could see every galaxy on the other side of our blind spot across the center of the Milky Way, it might look much different and less recognizable as "structures"; a view in which I believe the positions of the procedural galaxies tries to replicate.

SE have voids and filaments since v0.96. They are just poorly visible form inside. Those pictures shows a 2D slices of "3D cake". In reality, when you are inside it, it is very difficult to see the "3D foam" structure.

PS: btw this thread have wrong name.

Okay but look at the Millenium Run. okay i know 80% of it is procedural but u see that it will form (purple-yellow) webs to the universe and this is my question whether this is possible to simulate and whether this is going to implement in SE

okay i am going to change it biggrin

and also look at the videos and photos about the millenium run on this german website: http://www.mpa-garching.mpg.de/galform/presse/

Keep in mind what on these plots they depicted the gas density of a dark matter, not stellar component of a galaxies. Galaxies are small white dots at this scale.

Edit: this is a newer Universe simulation: http://www.illustris-project.org
Go to Explorer page and switch the main layer to "stellar composite". You will be surprised how small actual galaxies are compared to those blue filaments shown as default layer.

ohhhhhhh wooooooowwww shok
okay okay you´re right smile
i´m shocked how much dark matter (rougly 80% of the universe´s mass) and how many stellar objects are out there.
but...

... is it possible to add layers in SE like on this website??

p.s.: nice page thanks

With an army of coders and an unlimited budget, yes.

To simulate things to that degree, implement multi-wavelength filters, and get all of this done in a reasonable amount of time? At least a million dollars.

Not even including what the processor power might have to be for users to run it smoothly.

At least a million dollars.

On the bright side as SE grows larger and more popular, and years and years pass, and as processing power gets more affordable with future technological advances, this number will go down.

Although... to simulate the rate of this price drop with 100% accuracy we're going to need a whole different kind of universe simulator.

This is really cool. smile
