TheAstrobiologist, did you attach your se.log (found in SE system folder) somewhere in the troubleshooting thread? If not, I suggest you to do it, because it can contain some infos about this anomaly.

And where would I find the SE System folder?

Why fear our insignificance in the Universe? Because of it we have infinite wonders to explore, and it gives us the freedom to make what we want of our lives.

it's a subfolder named "system" under the folder where the SpaceEngine program is installed.

TheAstrobiologist, looks like old bug with star sprites on Intel HD. Try different star sprites rendering mode (Star: sprites slider on your second screenshot).

Is this a bug?

Happens in 0.9.7.4 RC3 too (can't confirm other versions).

Is this a bug?

No. It's normal orbits of long-periodic comets.

SpaceEngineer, are there any new features/bug fixes SINCE RC3 in 0.980? If so, what are they? =)

What is the changelog since 0.9.7.4 RC3?

Quote butterarmyxjrblx ()
It's on the download page.

Quote DeathStar ()
The major features added since RC3(that I remember) are procedural WR, Carbon and Zirconium stars and ships getting destroyed in extreme conditions.

I think what he means is removing all the stuff from the Release candidates to only show what work has been done between RC3 and 0.9.8.0

FastFourierTransform, Hornblower is correct, ShadowRaikou just wants to know if there's any difference between RC 3 and 0.980, not the difference between 0.973 and 0.980. Just the difference between RC 3 and 0.980.

Hornblower, PlutonianEmpire, Yes, exactly, thank you. =)

From what I can gather, Zirconium/Carbon/Wolf-Rayet Stars generate procedurally now.
