I've been trying create a custom system (a copy of the ETA star) but place the star in a particular nebula. How would I go about doing this? I know how to make a custom star it's just trying to locate it that's the issue.

Ok then plese delete this thread if you could. However this brings up another question how do you find out your current coordinates and RA Dec?

Ok I'm really sorry I'm still having a problem. I took the RA and Dec of sol from my desired location using the guide you linked me (RA 17 34 40.48 Dec 05 23 16.18 Distance 110.767pc). That came out to (RA 18 42 20 Dec -05 23 16 Distance 110.76pc) for my Custom Star Script. However the star was sill not in the correct location. Unless I'm doing something wrong here I have no idea why it's not working.

Here's the location I'm trying to place it

Vayeate, how did you get RA 18 42 20 from RA 17 34 40.48?

RA 17.577912 - 12 = 5.577912
Dec -(5.387830) = -5.378730

Ok so what would be the RA Dec then? (RA 05 57 79 12) (Dec -05.37 87 30)? Is that it?

The end results of the math equations I posted are the RA and Dec you need (as well as how to calculate them). I gave them in decimal format, not DD MM SS / HH MM SS format, which would be RA 05 34 40.48, Dec -05 23 16.18
