I made a video with some information and opinions about procedural generation in general,
and since it endorses Space Engine, I thought I would post it here.

The Case for Procedural Generation

I hope I wasn't wrong about any of the things I said dry

Yes, indeed very nice.
Where can I find that project of David Hoskins? I found a few more youtube video's of it, but didn't find a name or link, if it is downloadable at all.

Nice indeed!

Things I liked especially:
- The slightly panning telephoto shots of the mountains @02:30
- The synergy between audio and video
- The shot @03:30
- Amazing telephoto shots at 04:30+ (can you tell I'm a sucker for this stuff? smile )
- Ambience was special, you captured that certain empty feeling

You've got an eye for the beautiful!

Thanks a lot guys.

Think my fav bit is the mountains at 2.30, looks realistic with the lighting and detail.

Would love to see rocks/boulders scattered across the landscape. Sure its been mentioned but I guess in the works or demanding graphically?

Actually impossible in the current version of the landscape engine. Boulders, caves, and other such formations are planned for the future, but a lot of work will be required between now and then.

Nice work again on the video.

I was bored so I decided to make this.

It's a 48fps video which, unfortunately, Youtube capped to 30fps. There's a bit of choppiness.
